One of the coolest venues in Georgia is the Engine Room in Monroe. Located in-between Atlanta and Athens, and only 4 hours from Savannah, this venue is perfect for a couple looking for a semi-destination venue. The Engine Room was built in 1895 and was a former mill part of the Monroe Cotton Mills. It has the most beautiful original brick walls that make for a great backdrop. It also has antique hardwood floors and over 6200 sq feet of space for your wedding day. Even the huge fire doors are original! I love being able to photograph weddings here.
This shoot was inspired by moody Dutch still life paintings, with deep burgundies, blacks, and blues as the colors. Touches of gold make this color palette perfect for winter. Audrey from The Kings Cottage styled the décor and designed each room. Her love of dramatic and lush floral paintings is evident throughout the shoot! The floral design by Gertie Mae’s Floral Studio was absolutely show stopping. She even made an incredible flower crown for the bride, that complimented the colorful bouquet. The bridesmaids wore gowns in various shades of blue, and each wore an intricate hairpiece.
