Alyssa & Joe – Stone Tower Winery Wedding in Virginia

Alyssa and Joe got married at Stone Tower Winery in Northern, Virginia. Alyssa and Joe are great friends with my associate photographer, Hannah and her fiancé, Jarrod. Before college, Jarrod and Joe were childhood friends growing up in Savannah, Georgia. Alyssa then met Joe during their orientation at UGA, and they have been together ever since! Alyssa also met Hannah at the UGA orientation, and quickly realized that their boys were best friends! Sometimes fate brings people together in such a perfect way.

 

Stone Tower Winery Wedding

Alyssa and Joe had both their ceremony and reception at Stone Tower Winery. Set atop Hogback Mountain, this winery has 306 acres of land, including endless rows of vineyards. There are also views of the Bull Run Mountains in the distance, and the grounds have a rustic feel.

Before the ceremony, we took pictures around the beautiful winery and rolling hills. Obviously, wine was the main color of the wedding! For example, the bridesmaids wore wine dresses, and the groomsmen wore charcoal suits with wine colored ties to match. Similarly, the bride’s bouquet had gorgeous burgundy and wine flowers, including some amazing dahlias and ranunculus. I loved the touch of astilbe and greenery! The flowers had such a garden feel.

The ceremony took place inside the ballroom, overlooking the winery. Each side of the alter had large wine barrels and beautiful floral centerpieces. After the ceremony, I snuck away to get some sunset pictures of the couple. Meanwhile, the reception took place inside, complete with wine, burgundy and blush accents.

As a destination wedding photographer, it is always so great to be able to travel to unique destinations for weddings. Altogether, I loved being able to explore northern Virginia, and this tucked away winery outside of Washington, DC.
