Central Park Engagement Session

As a photographer, it’s always wonderful when I can travel for my couples. Katherine and Trevor live in NYC, but they are returning to Savannah, where Trevor grew up, for their wedding this April at the Olde Pink House. Katherine and Trevor met quite serendipitously on a dating app while Trevor was in NYC for just a few days interviewing for a medical residency. Due to Trevor’s demanding schedule as a doctor, an engagement session in Savannah never came to fruition. So, when Martin and I planned a visit to the city before Christmas, I was so excited for the chance to get together with these two for a Central Park engagement session!

Classic Engagement Session Style

Katherine and Trevor looked amazing together for their Central Park engagement session. One of my favorite things to write about is photography session style, so I love it when couples show up looking their best! Katherine wore a maroon cashmere sweater and satin skirt, which she paired with a black fur jacket. Altogether, she created an elegant look that was perfect for the cooler New York weather. Meanwhile, Trevor matched her with a grey flannel jacket, white button-up shirt, and tan khakis. It was a classic look for this couple!

Central Park Engagement Session

For this engagement session, I really wanted to take advantage of the location and photograph Katherine and Trevor in some iconic Central Park spots. We started at Bow Bridge, a Victorian-era bridge over Central Park Lake that spans 60 feet. This bridge has been in so many movies, and it was a great place to start our session.

After Bow Bridge, we headed over to Bethesda Terrance, an iconic spot if there ever was one. We got a variety of photographs in the space, from taking advantage of the geometric background inside to using the stairs to get some fun moments. Both sites made incredible backdrops!

Throughout their Central Park engagement session, Katherine and Trevor clearly had so much fun. They spent half the session dancing together, leading to some incredible photos. Trevor would pick her up and twirl her around, and it was a joy to watch.
