Karleigh and Andrea’s spring William Aiken House Wedding in Charleston was absolutely stunning. I love being able to travel to Charleston to photograph weddings. The couple were set up, and met when Andrea was performing at an Improv theater while they were living in Dayton, Ohio. They went out after and hit it off. They eventually dated long-distance for a year while Andrea lived in Boston, but are now in Chicago buying their first home together. As Karleigh says, “He’s my favorite person to experience things with. I am looking forward to a million more experiences.”
Karleigh looked so beautiful in her Lis Simon Gown. The gown had lace all over and a caplet top. The billowing caplet looked so wonderful in the breeze. Karleigh went to school for art, and designed the invitations herself. The invitations had soft watercolor florals and matched the garden wedding perfectly. Her bouquet was simple and classic, with white tulips wrapped in ribbon. Her bridesmaid had a tulip bouquet but it was in soft yellow to match the touches of yellow in the large floral arrangements that were placed throughout the venue.
Charleston is one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding. It is perfectly southern, but with such a fun vibe! It a romantic, garden wedding at the 18th century William Aiken House. This beautiful Charleston venue has multiple gardens and courtyards, right on Upper King Street. The couple exchanged their vows in one of the gardens, under a large pergola. The reception took place in an outdoor courtyard, with café lighting and large trees all around. The linens were crisp and white, except for the head-table which had a punch of color with floral linens and navy napkins.
