Emma and Hurst are one of the most fun, and wittiest, couples I have met! I loved shooting their Piedmont Park engagement session this spring. The two met their senior year at Rice University in Houston and initially didn’t like each other. In fact, Emma thought Hurst was a little self-righteous and wore flip flops with jeans, which was a big no for her! But after they got to know each other, they really clicked, and now are planning their fall wedding! As Hurst says about Emma, “She not only has the purest heart of anyone I have ever known, but she has a fearless curiosity that makes me want to explore the world by her side”.
The couple will be saying I Do in St. Simon this October, and are excited for more adventures together, including buying a house, and their Honeymoon in the Seychelles. One of the biggest parts of their life is their dog, Shae! Shae is a 4-year-old Dakota Sport Retriever, who joined us for their engagement session in Piedmont Park. In fact, Hurst could bring Shae to class, so Shae has been there from the very beginning!
Piedmont Park is a gorgeous gem in Midtown Atlanta, with amazing city views. There are over 180 acres of land, so plenty of places to take engagement photos! From forests to the gardens, to the lake, there are endless options! We walked around with Shae, and made sure to get some cute family portraits of the three. The azaleas and trees were in bloom, so there were some beautiful pops of color. But one of the best views is right on the edge of the Clara Meer lake. There, you can see the skyscrapers of downtown Atlanta, surrounded by trees. It’s such a special spot!
