Maggie and Wesley had a gorgeous spring wedding at Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. This Chapel is not only stunning inside and out, but has a famous background! It was built for the movie “The Last Song” and was gifted to the Tybee Island Historical Society who moved it to its current location. The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel now has a large ballroom attached, with room for up to 200 guests.
The couple loves the beach, so they knew they wanted a beach wedding. Tybee Island Wedding Chapel was the perfect spot! The Chapel is only steps away from the beach. Maggie and Wesley love adventure! They love adventure so much that right after they got engaged, they moved to Alaska on a whim and LOVED it! To incorporate their new home, they did a “Tying the Knot” Ceremony utilizing a rope once used in Alaska’s Bering Sea.
Tybee Island Wedding Chapel really is a special place to get married. The grounds make for gorgeous pictures. There is a marsh behind the venue, and a large staircase out-front- perfect for group pictures. As a Savannah Wedding Photographer, this is one of my favorite places to shoot a wedding.
The ladies got ready at the Mermaid Castle, Ocean Cottage Rental down the street. The space was bright, and the perfect mix of clean and cozy beach house.
Their first look took place right on the front deck of the Chapel. We explored the grounds to get portraits, and the flowers really showed off. We were able to get some beautiful shots by the honeysuckle bushes, and large oak trees around the grounds.
Kato Floral Design did an incredible job creating a bouquet that was natural, and cascading. Maggie’s bouquet had blush roses, peonies, and hanging ivy. The flower girl even had a matching flower crown (how cute!)
The reception took place in the ballroom. The space is so gorgeous, that Design Studio South and Kato Floral Design kept the décor to a minimum. They focused on greenery centerpieces with blush accents and greenery runners.
The huge wedding was a giant party, filled with a ton of dancing and props! All About You Entertainment always know how to get a party started!
