Metallic Industrial Wedding – The Standard – Knoxville, TN

I’m so excited to finally share this styled shoot, we’ve been keeping it hush hush for way too long!  Last year, Martin and I visited some friends in Knoxville – where we lived for 2 years while Martin attended UT for his masters – and of course I wanted to take that opportunity to network with a few local wedding folks and establish a relationship with an awesome venue.  I reached out to my bestie Julie Roberts – who by the way, I pretty much thank for showing me how incredible being a wedding photographer is – I wouldn’t be where I am today without her friendship and mentoring!  She gathered a few of her favorite people and we took the opportunity to shoot at a new event space in Knoxville called The Standard. This place makes my heart go pitter patter!  I am a sucker for interior brick walls and industrial lights and I just love a venue that is a little on the nitty gritty side!  We wanted to run with the industrial theme that is so popular right now but keep it soft with rustic & floral touches.  Krystle Whitney Events did a fab job at marrying those two aesthetics.  Below you find images from both me (I shot film!) and Julie Roberts – enjoy!  Oh! Not only is Julie an incredible photographer but she is also a crafty genius in so many other areas! She handmakes books and albums and sews her own holiday cards – it was only natural for her to want to create our invitation suite and other “paper” goods (menu & escort cards) – only she didn’t make them out of paper – they are hand stamped metal!

Colleen of White Orchid Bridal is one of my favorite gals – newly relocated to Atlanta, she custom creates gowns and accessories from vintage pieces and heirlooms.  She’s pretty fab.  When we asked her to play, she whipped up this gold metallic gown just for us.
