Alison & Tim – Maternity Session in Athens, Georgia

I’m so excited to share this maternity session in Athens! One of the biggest joys of being a photographer is not just photographing a couple’s wedding – but being there to document all of life’s moments! A wedding is just the start of so many adventures, from growing a family to holiday cards, I love to be a part of them all. It’s so important to document these times, and have pictures to cherish.

I photographed Alison and Tim’s wedding a few years ago. Needless to say, we became fast friends and I fell in love with them. We’ve kept steady contact since that lovely day, and I was delighted to find out that they were expecting.

I was even more happy to hear they want me to photograph their maternity session in Athens, Georgia! This is their first child, a little girl named Autumn. We made sure to have lots of fall colors and even got some with golden leaves.

Because, what is Autumn without the loving embrace of fall?

Ben Burton Park and the UGA Botanical Gardens Maternity Session

We shot at Ben Burton Park and the UGA Botanical Gardens in Athens. Both places offer gorgeous views, and lots of acres to walk around.

At Ben Burton Park, we walked through some of the trails, where the leaves were just starting to fall. It was like a beautiful dream of watching the seasons change. There are beautiful river views from the park, that made for a beautiful backdrop. The smell of pine in the air with a lovely crisp breeze keeping us cool in the Athens Ga heat. 

Utilizing these backdrops, we took lovely intimate photos that I absolutely adored. Creating this sort of magic is so much easier when you have a couple who shows boundless love for one another such as Alison & Tim. I also look forward to being their Athens Newborn Photographer, when sweet Autumn finally arrives.

At the UGA Botanical Gardens, we walked around the gardens, and took advantage of all of the colorful flowers in bloom! I absolutely adore using flowers and gardens as backdrops my couples. 

They add for such gorgeous flair to each and every photo. Per my suggestion, Alison and Tim chose natural colors, which are great for family photos. It lets you display them all year round, and goes with all decor!

Alison wore a beautiful ivory dress, with lace details and buttons. Tim wore a nice button-down and khaki pants. This color palette blended in so well with the wooded background. 

Without a doubt, these photos will grace their walls for years to come as they show little Autumn as she gets older how beautiful Alison looked while carrying her. This thought always makes my heart melt. This is why I do this.

So for generations, families will always be able to look back on photos and be teleported to that moment. Remembering the past through a photograph.
