I couldn’t have imagined a better way to start my wedding season than with Amelia & Danny’s beautiful wedding. The March sun shone warm as the girls prepped in this lovely downtown home.
I was in love with Amelia’s blush Badgley Mischkas and sash…..and the beautiful pleating on her gown. Her invitations were designed using vintage flower prints – designed and printed by Creative Approach. Thanks to Sylvia Griggs for hair and Lynn Quann for gorgeous makeup. The bridesmaids looked fabulous in their lavender and navy gowns – such lovely ladies!Harvey Designs created the gorgeous florals – I will never tire of blush pink – its just such a sweet, classic color!Martin captured some great moments with Danny and the guys. The ceremony was held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension.I just love this little moment of Amelia peeking out from the elevator!Favorite.Guests enjoyed an Oglethorpe Trolley ride to the American Legion for the reception.I must say that the American Legion has become one of my favorite inside venues. Its spacious, beautiful and bright white (i.e. great for photography!). Now, it was a huge labor of love to bring Amelia’s vision for her reception to life. She wanted to bring the look of a garden inside and she also wanted to have mismatched china place settings. Her sweet mother began to scour thrift stores, buy on ebay and attend antique auctions to find the amount of china needed to make this happen. She now has over 250 place settings as well as cake plates, dessert platters, teapots – the whole shebang – and has started her own antique china rental company – Lillian’s China. Her collection is amazing and available for any event, big or small – check her out!!The table numbers used the same vintage flower prints as the invites and were also printed by Creative Approach.Harvey Designs did an amazing job at styling the event with amazing florals, making the inside garden a reality. I loved the escort card station! And Victoria at First City Events made everything come together seamlessly – what a sweetie and joy to work with!Amelia’s step dad even built the stands for the lanterns.Danny isn’t really the cake type of guy – so instead of a groom’s cake, he opted to serve crab cakes as the hors d’oeuvres – this was the groom’s “cake.” I thought this was genius! Afterwards, guests enjoyed a yummy Southern family style dinner catered by the ever amazing Nick Mueller.Mollie Stone created the beautiful (and delicious) wedding cake – served on lovely little antique plates! The Sapphire Bullets band kept the party going with great classics.Amelia & Danny – words cannot describe enough the pleasure it has been to get to know you two and your family. I just love you, your mom and your sister – you know I am always up for donning my gloves and hats for tea with y’all!! I will jump at any chance to come play with the dishes :) All the best of luck to you!!
