At Home Engagement Session on St. Simons

Anna and Bert live on St. Simons, close to the beach. So when they said they wanted to do their engagement session on the beach and at home, I got so excited! I love how popular at-home engagement sessions are becoming since they really let your personalities shine through. It’s also perfect if you have a fun outdoor space we can mix it up with or a fun activity we can do.

We started Anna and Bert’s session on the beach, which is their favorite spot to hang out. The slightly overcast skies were perfect since they created the softest glow. The couple has known each other since elementary school and grew up in St. Simons. So it was really important to them to have their engagement session and their upcoming wedding take place in their hometown. 

Bert proposed on Anna’s 30th birthday while they were on vacation at Epcot. They were hanging out in “Morocco,” enjoying drinks with friends, and taking pictures. The crew took a few pictures of them, and then Bert got down on one knee and proposed! Anna was so surprised and excited to have a few family and friends with them to celebrate. 

At-Home Engagement Session

After enjoying the morning on the beach, we returned to their house, which they have been renovating since moving in a few years ago. We used their large yard, filled with oaks and palm trees. And, of course, their cat joined in!

For their indoor session, we chose their living room, since it has plenty of light, and is their favorite spot to hang out, watch tv, and entertain. Their two pups sat with us, and it was the perfect afternoon. Sometimes, couples think they must clean their whole house before an at-home session, but that’s not true! We will focus on one to two rooms, so you just have to straighten those up a little bit. We want it to feel still lived-in, after all!

I can’t wait for their spring wedding at Sea Island Retreat Clubhouse next year! I know it’s going to be gorgeous and filled with so much fun and laughter. These two are so excited to finally be husband and wife, and enjoy life with their lifelong partners.
