At-Home Family Session on Tybee Island

Ben and Sarah are some of our best friends in Savannah. They had a Georgia mountain elopement in 2015 that I was lucky enough to be able to photograph. I love working with them, so I was so happy when they reached out for a family session! They decided on an at-home family session, and their session turned out to have great summer vibes!

Tybee Island Photoshoot

Ben, Sarah, and their son live out on Tybee Island, and their sweet little home includes their very own private dock and beach. So, it was the perfect location for a summer family session! I love working on Tybee Island because the views are always gorgeous. It’s a beautiful photoshoot location. It’s even better when you have your own private beach, and you don’t need to worry about anyone barging in on your photos!

At-Home Family Session

We started their at-home family session by photographing with the grandparents. It’s always fun when extended family can join in on a session, and the photos came out so sweet. The love and joy were so evident. After getting some extended family photos, their son got to run around on the beach and docks. I love the photos of him just having fun. It was so great to see him play around with Ben and Sarah too.

When doing family sessions, my main goal is always to make sure the kids feel comfortable and relaxed. I never pose because I want them to do what comes naturally to them and have fun. There’s nothing better than being able to capture their natural joy. This is easier when you’re doing an at-home family session because your kids can relax easier. But any place where they can have fun and be themselves works too!
