Last Summer I had the incredible honor of photographing Cameron and Andrew’s Washington DC Wedding. I have known Cameron for many years now, going back to when I first moved to Savannah after living in Madrid! I was working on Gaucho on Broughton Street, and Cameron was a regular customer. She is a badass lawyer, with incredible style. Andrew lives in Washington, DC, so that is where they wanted their wedding to take place. One of her Bridesmaids, Monica, owns B Street salon. So naturally, Monica did Cameron’s hair for the wedding day.
Their ceremony took place at the beautiful St. John’s Church on Layfaette Square. The church was built in 1815, and has many of the original details in tact. This includes 25 historic stained glass windows, designed and produced in France. The bell in the steeple was even cast by Paul Revere’s son, Joesph. I mean, how amazing is that?
The men wore white tuxedo’s, which was perfect with Cameron’s white crepe gown. Her gown had an open back and buttons all the way down to the train. It was perfectly classic and modern, and looked so good on her! She carried a bouquet of burgundy peonies, and her bridesmaids carried burgundy Calla Lilly bouquets. The bridesmaids wore gold gowns, and the junior bridesmaids wore short matching dresses. It was such a clean and beautiful palette for summer in Washington, DC!
Their reception was at the W Hotel’s rooftop bar, POV, which is steps away from St. John’s Church. Since both locations are right by the Mall, we took some time before the reception to get pictures in the National Mall. We were able to get the Washington Monument and White House as our backdrop! The POV Lounge has sweeping views of the monuments and is sparkling with gold details everywhere. Even their cake had gold foil to match the room and the bridesmaids! Thank you, Cameron and Andrew, for letting me photograph this special day!
