Kaley and Mark were one of my many couples who had to change their plans because of Covid. They were originally supposed to get married in September 2020, but they ended up holding their wedding in March 2021. Kaley and Mark had their wedding at The Mackey House, and it was worth the wait! I was so happy to be able to work at The Mackey House again too!
I loved Kaley’s dress! It was covered in lace with lace straps and a cream lining that made the lace pop. Her look was completed with her cathedral-length lace veil and Bella Belle Flats, covered in hand-sewn beadwork and crystals. I had so much fun styling her portraits with her stunning veil, especially as the sun set behind us. She looked so classic and lovely. Not to mention, Mark looked so handsome in his dark navy tux. Together they looked amazing, especially since they were clearly so happy to be together.
I love when my clients choose to do a first look! I love seeing them immediately get more relaxed as soon as they are together. Kaley and Mark instantly had their nerves washed away as soon as they saw each other. Their first look was so beautiful, and even still, Mark was so emotional as Kaley walked down the aisle. I always let my clients know that just because you do a first look doesn’t mean there won’t be tears later! Walking down the aisle is still an incredible moment, that takes everyone’s breath away.
The Mackey House is such a unique venue because it’s just minutes from Downtown, but it’s so private and surrounded by woodland. They have acres and acres of lush garden and multiple spaces for your ceremony. All of the first floor’s adjoining rooms open onto the covered patio, creating a wonderful flow to your event. Add in some heaters, and it’s the perfect location for a winter outdoor wedding like Kaley and Mark’s. While this venue has updated gardens, my favorite areas are where their majestic old oak trees are, covered in Spanish moss, and perfectly southern. There is nothing more picturesque than the sun glowing through Spanish moss.
They had a white and green color palette, which was so pretty for their winter wedding. They added pops of pink into their table décor and flowers.I love working with Kristian Designs, since she always creates enchanting arrangements. The custom acrylic signage by Anna Taylor finished everything.
I just love this couple. I’m so glad they got this happy day and their wedding at The Mackey House came out so beautifully! If you’re planning your own Savannah wedding, I’d love to hear from you! Let me know how I can help make your day beautiful!
