Sophisticated Winter Wedding at The Cloister Chapel

Caroline and Doug had a sophisticated winter wedding last year, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. This wedding was all about family! Their children made up their wedding party, and it was so wonderful to see. They had their ceremony at The Cloister (which I love shooting at!), and it was so pretty since it was all decorated for Christmas. I just loved working with Caroline and Doug on their intimate wedding on Sea Island.

A Classic Bridal Look

Caroline wore an incredible lace gown by Reem Acra, which was breathtaking. The hand-placed lace was all hand-sewn, and the sheer back added some drama. Her bouquet was all white roses, and it perfectly added to her look. Her daughters were her bridesmaids and wore blush chiffon gowns with bow detail. She looked so lovely and happy next to her daughters. She also did a first look with her son who walked her down the aisle, which was such a precious moment.

Sophisticated Winter Wedding

When it came to the design, the couple wanted a sophisticated and luxurious reception, focused on all white flowers and touches of gold. The menus were printed in gold foil, and the chargers were gold-rimmed. The soft blue napkins added a soft neutral to the all-white palette. The linens came from their daughter’s own company, and they were gorgeous!

The reception took place at their home on Sea Island, in their garden-inspired backyard. Cafe lights added a soft glow, strung from the oak and palm trees. The flowers were all white, including peonies, garden roses, tulips, and spray roses. Their reception was so intimate and elegant with just a handful of tables. Everyone clearly had so much fun and just enjoyed being able to be together.
