Dark Academia Inspired Anniversary Session in Savannah

I always love the opportunity to do something unique! Kaitlyn reached out because she wanted an anniversary session in Savannah inspired by “dark academia.” She told me that she had originally wanted to wear black for her wedding and get married in a cemetery or haunted house, but their wedding ended up being a different style. So, Kaitlyn and her husband wanted to use their fifth wedding anniversary as an opportunity to get those photos they’d always wanted. I thought this was such a fun idea, and I put together the perfect list of locations.

Beautiful Black Wedding Dress

I just loved Kaitlyn’s dress from Bete Noire Shop! Her husband had her dream wedding gown made for her. The dress has a tulle gown with long lace sleeves and a beautiful off-the-shoulder neckline. It was perfect for their shoot since it was a little bit mysterious and a little bit sexy. Her half-moon manicure and ruby wedding ring tied it all together.

Romantic Anniversary Session in Savannah

Savannah is known for being a Haunted City. It is the perfect backdrop for a couple looking for history and intrigue. We started the shoot in Kaitlyn’s favorite spot in Savannah, Colonial Cemetery. This 6-acre cemetery is right in the heart of Historic Savannah, and it is the oldest cemetery in Savannah. It opened in 1750, and many of the original gravestones remain. It’s a place where Kaitlyn loves to go to take in the beauty every time she visits Savannah.

We used a few other spots nearby that I knew would give off the moody romantic vibe she wanted. Kaitlyn really wanted a more sophisticated and elegant vibe with a creepy edge.
