For Deana and David, their winter wedding in Savannah wasn’t just about tying the knot but about bringing together their two families to celebrate. When they started to plan their destination wedding, they knew they wanted to create a thoughtful wedding experience for their guests. As a wedding photographer, I love nothing more than a wedding filled with thoughtful touches! I am so excited to share their gorgeous winter wedding at Perry Lane Hotel with you.
The couple wanted a venue that would allow for indoor and outdoor elements so that guests could enjoy the gorgeous views of Savannah. Perry Lane Hotel was a perfect choice! This is one of my favorite venues in Savannah since it provides one of the best rooftops for wedding ceremonies. They also have gorgeous suites to get ready in, so you, your partner, and your wedding party can all get ready on-site. Getting ready at your venue makes your timeline much easier since you don’t have to include travel time! While Historic Savannah is a little small, it can take a while to travel across. There are squares every few blocks to go around, and a lot of pedestrians (and horses!)
After a first look in the Library at Perry Lane Hotel, we took some portraits around Historic Savannah. One of my favorite parts about living in Georgia is that even our winters have gorgeous weather! Everything is still green, and there are even some flowers blooming in December. As the sun began to set, we headed back for their rooftop ceremony. They chose to have a live gospel choir since at their ceremony, like in their favorite movie, Love Actually! It was the sweetest touch to their wedding.
Their reception was inside the ballroom and decorated in winter-inspired decor. Greenery filled with pine and berries lined the tables, while chandeliers were covered in cascading greenery for a pop of texture. They created intimate seating areas on the patio outdoors so guests to enjoy the Savannah skyline.
My favorite detail about their wedding was their gifts. They created a signature candle scent and had them burning throughout the reception, so the room smelled gorgeous. Plus, every guest got a candle as a favor! It was such a personal way to create a gift for everyone to enjoy while also working together to create their signature scent.
I loved being there to photograph this sweet couple and capture all of their thoughtful details. While I am available in Savannah, I also love photographing weddings across Georgia, including Atlanta and Sea Island! As you start to plan your 2023 wedding, reach out. I would love to learn more about your day!
