Happy St. Patrick’s Day – Green and White Wedding Inspiration

March 17, 2011

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everybody!! People don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day here in Spain so I especially miss being in Savannah, where the river and the fountains turn green, everyone camps out for the parade and drinking begins at 9am. If you haven’t yet experienced St. Patty’s Day in Savannah, you should make a point to do so, its a good time! And for all my buddies there, I miss you and have fun for meeeeeeeeee!

In the spirit of today, I’ve collected tons of beautiful wedding inspiration in differing shades of green! I love green, but Im not sure it would ever be at the top of my list as a wedding color, I tend to lean towards soft pinks and grays and golds – romantic colors! But after putting all of this together, I think green would make a lovely wedding – my favorites are the more olive green tones! What do you think?

I picture this beautiful BHLDN dress for the bridesmaids and the J.Crew necklace and ban.do hair peice as perfect touches for the bride. And this green is my favorite, it just looks so antique and pretty!

But if you prefer a brighter emerald green these options are just as lovely! From left to right: J.Crew lace dress, ban.do headband, J.Crew ruffle dress

This clutch from etsy and this shamrock boutonniere would be darling for the bridal party.

A birdcage veil is always a must and I also love this other clutch from etsy.

Outfit the groomsmen in fun green ties in differing prints and give cufflinks as gifts.

I just love vintage hankies! You could give them as bridesmaid’s gifts (I did) or use them to decorate your tables.  These are from etsy but you can easily find them at estate sales, vintage or thrift stores or on ebay.  Try to buy them in lots to save money!

Decorate your tables and reception with green depression glass in differing shapes and sizes.  From left to right.  Vases, apothecary jars and goblets all from etsy.  But again you can also easily find them at yard and estate sales and thrift stores.

Here’s a great table top and an amazing bouquet from Martha Stewart Weddings – I love anemones!

A table looks a thousand times prettier with real dishes.  And I love it when people mix and match!  I found these lovely china plates and tea cups on Martha Stewart but I know you can find tons of lovely single pieces at thrift stores and estate sales…..I love the hunt!

Serve your guests cucumber sandwiches and mint lime gin and tonics, yum!

Hope yall all have a fun St. Patty’s Day! and let me know what kind of fun you’re getting into!
