Lauren & Rob – Ford Field and River Club Wedding

I just loved shooting Lauren and Rob’s stunning Ford Field and River Club Wedding! You might remember Lauren and Rob from their sweet surprise proposal on Hilton Head Island! Rob reached out to me last year because he wanted to surprise Lauren with a proposal, and his birthday weekend was the perfect occasion! He knew she would never expect him doing something like that for her when the weekend was supposed to be about him.

It was a second wedding for both, Lauren & Rob knew that they wanted to make everything about their day extra special and meaningful.  The couple met through work and maintained a long-distance relationship, Lauren living in KY and Rob living in Boston. They chose Ford Field and River Club near Savannah, GA as their wedding venue as the property was very special to Rob and his late father. Located in between Savannah and Jekyll Island, The Ford Field and River Club is every wedding photographer’s dream. In fact, with over 1800 acres of centuries-old live oaks, it makes the most stunning southern backdrop for your wedding day.

Rich Blues and Pink Wedding

The amazing team at Design Studio South crafted a vibrant wedding full of rich blues and pinks. Beginning with a stunning custom invitation suite and continuing onto the florals and linens, it was a palette so perfect for the transition into Spring. Likewise, the bridesmaids wore a soft dusty blue, with ivory bouquets that had a touch of hot pink.

Lauren wore a stunning Pronovias gown, that was strapless and covered in lace; it was classic, and fit her like a glove! Of course, I loved her cathedral-length veil, which had a touch of lace to match her dress. In addition, Lauren surprised Rob with custom cufflinks with a photo of his dad – it was such a sweet sentiment!

Ford Field and River Club

The ceremony took place on the main lawn, with stunning oak trees all around, and the light was magic! They wanted to make sure that their children were also a part of the wedding day! The couple honored their children during the ceremony with a special sand ceremony.

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the back lawn and the reflecting pool with the gorgeous view of the Ogeechee River. Later, they transitioned to a tented al fresco dinner. The tables were covered in a soft blue, with hot pink accents on the napkins.

As part of the toasts, Rob was surprised with readings from his very own journal which documented the beginning of his love story with Lauren. Afterward, guests were treated to Leopold’s ice cream and danced under a tent created by twinkle lights. Altogether, it was the perfect evening, surrounded by family and friends!
