Tessa and Matt’s downtown Charleston wedding was one of the most incredible I have ever photographed! This was a beautiful two-day affair, so you won’t want to miss the second day going up on the blog in a few weeks. Tessa got ready in the beautiful new Hotel Bennett in downtown Charleston, which mixes southern charm with European design.
One of the most show-stopping parts of the wedding was Tessa’s dress! Tessa wore Jean by Theia, a satin slip mermaid gown that fit her perfectly, thanks to alterations by White Orchid Bridal. Instead of a veil, she paired it with the Charlie cape by Tatyana Merenyuk. It was so stunning and took my breath away! I just love when a bride steps outside of the box and does an incredible, and unique look. The finishing touch were her mustard gold heels, with bows. Tessa’s touch of yellow matched her bouquet perfectly, which had succulents, wildflowers, and billy buttons.
After Tessa got ready, we took advantage of the gorgeousness of Hotel Bennett and got some portraits inside and outside. And the gusts of winds made for some incredible shots! Tessa loves those in-between unposed moments and challenged me to shoot that way and I love all the photos we made together, especially with her magical gown & cape!
Their ceremony took place at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and after their ceremony, we went to The College of Charleston for bride and groom photos. Even though we got caught in the rain, they totally didn’t care and it made for adorable photos! They were so happy to be married, that they didn’t let a little rain get in their way.
One of the funnest touches was how they incorporated their love of The Office. They included funny one liners from the show, on their cocktail napkins, cups, and all over! They even had their videographer interview them throughout the day a la The Office so that their wedding video had a similar vibe! It was such a fun, and personal touch, that made it so unique to them. Also, who doesn’t love a good joke from The Office? I know you are going to love this wedding, and I can’t wait to share day two!
