This lavender wedding editorial was part of a collaboration French Knot Studios and I had with Wedding Paper Divas a couple years back.  It was graciously featured on The Perfect Palette but I never actually blogged it!  It’s so lovely and I think its a beautiful example of how to correctly use shades of purple in a wedding that I figured better late than never :)  Plus, the color palette is appropriate for the Valentine’s Day season that just passed.  And these sweet vintage details are always appropriate for a Southern wedding!

The first step in creating a purple and lavender wedding is to utilize several shades.  Don’t be afraid to round out your palette with some blush or brown hues to keep it soft.  The purple bouquet and other blooms by Gray Harper Event Maker are a perfect example of using a varied palette.  I love how the browns and other hues in the vintage rentals and china bring warmth to the setting.

Stay classic with a lace gown and veil but bring in a modern sensibility with lace lasercut decor.  We had Nic.Roc.Designs custom created table numbers and a cake topper reminiscent of the bride’s style.

Add a bit of whimsy with a paper ceremony backdrop.  Paper decor can repeat itself at the reception with DIY chandeliers over your guest tables or over a dessert table.  And what Southern wedding is complete without a vintage lounge and whiskey bar during cocktail hour!?
