I am so excited to share Monica and Tal’s Harper Fowlkes House and Perry Lane Hotel Wedding! You might remember this couple from their unique and editorial engagement session. Not only did they want their engagement photos to be more editorial, but also their wedding photos. I love that they wanted something different and let me shoot with a fresh perspective. And of course, their sweet pup was also included in their wedding!
Monica’s mother passed away from cancer before the wedding, so there were many sweet sentiments to her. One of them was a photo she carried on her bouquet, so her mom was able to walk down the aisle with her. Monica got ready with her closest friends and bridal party, in a gorgeous suite at Perry Lane Hotel, that matched their wedding colors perfectly. I love when brides choose getting ready spots that reflect their wedding vibes! The bridesmaids all wore mismatching gowns, in shades of green, blue and gray.
Kato Floral Designs made the most breathtaking chuppah for the ceremony at Harper Fowlkes House. It was covered in lush greenery, and cream roses and flowers. It matched Monica’s lush bouquet, that had touches of black and white anemones. The flower girls wore matching flower crowns – which was such a cute touch! Everything about this wedding was modern and classic, including Monica’s incredible gown by Tara Keely! Her silk ballgown had the most gorgeous off the shoulder neckline, and incredible slit. It was so classic, and timeless.
After the ceremony, Monica, Tal and I walked to Forsyth Park, to get portraits around downtown Savannah. Savannah has some of the most incredible architecture, which made for some great editorial inspired shots. And of course, we had to get a photo in front of Forsyth Fountain!
The reception was held at Perry Lane Hotel, which has a gorgeous rooftop deck, perfect for cocktail hour. It offers such gorgeous views of Historic Savannah! They kept the décor minimal and modern, with white flower centerpieces, and soft candlelight. One of the sweetest moments of the night was Monica’s dance with her dad. It was such a special moment between the two. Weddings are so much more than just celebrating the couple – it is also about celebrating family! Monica and Tal made sure that their wedding day was focused on not just the love between the two of them, but the love of their family. They even had Monica’s Maid of Honor be the DJ for the night! Thank you, Monica and Tal, for letting me document this incredible day!
