After Stephanie initially emailed me about her wedding, I immediately knew we were going to be a good match for each other. After meeting her and Rhett for their engagement session in Savannah, my instincts were confirmed! I just couldn’t wait to photograph their sweet farm wedding in Albany, GA. Stephanie and Rhett are the best kind of couple. Honest. Down to earth. Fun. Adorable. And the best darn match for each other ever. Its completely obvious how perfect they are for each other within seconds of knowing them.
I worried over the stormy weather the whole drive to Albany but luckily the rain cleared just as I arrived to Merry Acres allowing me to get the most beautiful photos of Stephanie’s details.
I loved Stephanie’s lucky sixpence for her shoe!
Sidenote: the loverly Denise Gonsales helped me as my second shooter all day and she was super fab…so give her a round of applause….now!
Rhett loves monkeys. Remember his monkey hat from the e-session? So he just had to have the most awesome monkey cufflinks, naturally!
Stephanie and Rhett chose to do a “First Look” which is my favorite. Its so sweet, intimate, personal and if you ask me, just plain logical. :) Plus look at the pretty pictures you get.
Merry Acres was a new venue for both Denise and I – we were totally impressed. It offered so many cute little areas for photos – including the impressive historic home around which the inn is based. Plus, the staff totally rocks!
Stephanie – you are beautiful.
After a few portraits at Merry Acres, we headed out to the family farm. Upon arriving, our car was literally bombarded with thousands of mutant mosquitoes. But never fear, a good photographer always comes prepared so after dousing ourselves in bug spray – we were able to take in the absolute beauty around us.
Stephanie’s bouquet was one of my favorites ever. Almost completely made of succulents – I loved the muted color palette of greens, whites and purples. The best part is that Stephanie planted the succulents after the wedding! Her girls carried lavender which smelled ah-mazing.
Another favorite detail was this ribbon covered in several family member’s wedding rings, past and present generations. Isn’t that the best thing? Stephanie carried it wrapped around her bouquet.
The lake provided an excellent backdrop for photos.
But the woods were my favorite.
The reception was held back at Merry Acres – lovely baby’s breath centerpieces, fun guitar pick favors and the best fingerprint tree “guest book”.
We popped outside for one last picture as the sun was setting.
Stephanie & Rhett – I can’t thank you enough for choosing me to document your wedding. It was beautiful and you are beautiful!
