Summer Engagement Party Ideas – LGBTQ wedding photographer

In honor of Labor Day weekend, I’m sharing some summer engagement party inspiration from my collaboration last year with Wedding Paper Divas and French Knot Studios.  I’m super ready for Fall, but in the South, we’re definitely still in the dog days of summer!

For this shoot, we wanted to feature a cutie same sex couple, because let’s face, love wins!  And these two giggly gals are just perfect.  Keep cool in the summer heat with frozen treats from Savannah’s own Jenni’s Treats on the Street.  Not only are the ice creams reminiscent of childhood, the retro ice cream truck also makes for super fun photos!

A summer engagement party isn’t complete without a vibrant dinner party with friends.  We chose Tybee Island Social Club for its easy breezy atmosphere and delicious food.  French Knot Studios created a fresh, tropical focal point for the table in summer hues of oranges and purple. Add visual interest with a DIY leather bunting, easily made with rope and colorful leather scraps. 

Treat your guests to custom leather koozies from our local favorite maker, Satchel.

Ceviche, gourmet guacamole and hummus and fresh tortilla chips & veggies make for the perfect shareable finger foods.

Take advantage of the beach near sunset for some fun filled engagement photos – grab some tropical leaves from the table for on the spot props!
