You may remember Melissa & David from their cutie engagement session at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
One of their first big dates was Sweetwater 420 Fest where they got to know each other well and where Melissa says she knew she was love. “There is a Japanese phrase that I only know because it is also the name of one of my favorite albums, Koi No Yokan. It describes: The sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the two of you are going to fall in love. It differs from ‘love at first sight’ as it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, only the knowledge that a future love is inevitable. This is exactly how I felt!” So, it was only fitting that once they got engaged, they started planning a Sweetwater Brewery wedding.
The day began at the beautiful Loews hotel in downtown Atlanta. Melissa’s gown and bridal details were classic and elegant. I love the lace long sleeves on her beautiful Theia wedding dress.
Admittedly, when I have weddings in downtown Atlanta, I get nervous about where I’m going to do portraits. I’m so spoiled by Savannah where literally any little crevice in which you are is insanely beautiful. Downtown Atlanta, however is a concrete jungle. Fortunately, across the street from the Loews hotel is the gorgeous Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and a lovely little green space. We went there to do the First Look and bride and groom portraits. What a stunning location!
We then went to Sweetwater Brewing Company where the wedding would take place.
The ceremony & reception took place in an adjacent building to the main one, The Woodlands. Its super rustic & industrial looking and super awesome.
After a lovely ceremony, we went to the rooftop for some gorgeous sunset photos!
Melissa and David knew how to throw a casual and fun party. Guests enjoyed local, delicious brew and lots of good music!
