Top 8 Getting Ready Locations in Savannah

October 20, 2020

Finding a getting ready spot for your wedding is so much more than just finding a big enough room! This is one of the most important places you will book, since it will be the backdrop for the first few hours of your wedding day. Getting ready photos are when the photographer captures the bride and groom getting ready, in their separate spaces. This works best when you have a second-shooter since they can be capturing the groom, while I capture the bride. But you can also have us start with you, and go to the groom’s room after.

And, while you might think of your getting ready photos as just time for hair and makeup, it’s so much more than that! It is a bonding moment between you, your bridal party, and your family! I share all of my top reasons why you should do getting ready photos in this blog post, so make sure to read that after this one!

There are a few things you should think about when picking your getting ready location. I go over my top 7 tips for picking the best getting ready spot, here! And to make your search even easier, today I’m sharing my top 8 spaces for getting ready!

The Hotels

When it comes to Hotels vs. Airbnb – I always tell my clients it is whatever feel you are going for! Both have their own pros and cons. If you are looking for lots of conveniences, cleaning services, and easy parking, Hotels in Savannah can be a great option.

The Alida Hotel

If you are looking for contemporary design, and modern features, you will love The Alida! No two rooms are exactly alike, so it’s always so fun to see each rooms design. They also all have hardwood floors, for a unique touch. The Alida is also home to the rooftop bar, The Lost Square, which also makes for awesome portraits. This is the perfect spot for the groom and their groomsmen to grab a drink before the first look!

Perry Lane Hotel

This hotel is a beautiful mix of mid-century modern, with moody wall colors, and amazing contemporary furniture. I love the Celebration Suite. It boasts a large living room, two bathrooms, and a one of a kind vanity that is perfect for getting ready. All of the rooms are so bright and colorful, and very artsy!

The Brice

This boutique hotel is tucked away in the North-East corner of the Historic District, so its perfect if you are looking for a beautiful hotel, away from the crowd and noise. They also have the most beautiful courtyards of any hotel, with a pool and fire pit. Their suites are also super light and airy. My favorite suite is the Juliette Suite! This room overlooks the terrace with a pool view and is one of my favorite suites in Savannah.

The Rentals

One of the perks of getting married in Savannah is the countless AirBnBs, Inns, and Bed and Breakfasts. Some have been completely transformed and modernized, while others still have the historic charm Savannah is known for. While there are a ton of options, and I have a large list for my clients to look at, these are some of my favorites!

Mirabelle Suites

Looking for a clean and classic suite, or even a set of suites? I love The Suites at Mirabelle! This 1800’s building is right across from the iconic St. Johns Cathedral – so it’s perfect for downtown Savannah weddings. Plus, we can get some portraits on the steps of the Cathedral, or in nearby Lafayette square. There are 4 suites to choose from, and you can also rent out the whole building if you have a larger bridal party. The best part? Downstairs is Mirabelle Cafe, a delicious coffee shop and bakery. So not only are the rooms gorgeous, but you can walk downstairs and get a delicious breakfast!

I love this spot for elopement couples! This spot has room for 2 guests and has a cute balcony. Plus you are steps away from a ton of brunch spots, and delicious food.
