Tybee Island Engagement Session

There’s nothing like an engagement session on the beach! Lauren and Sean’s wedding is going to be at Oakland Island Wildlife Center, so you know they’re huge outdoor lovers. So, when it came time to pick a location for their engagement shoot, they knew they wanted to be outside. Ultimately, they decided on a Tybee Island engagement session.

My associate photographer, Hannah, handled this Tybee Island engagement session, and she did such a great job. Tybee Island is the perfect getaway from Savannah. You get beautiful sunsets and an intimate setting. I love beach engagement settings because you really get to see a couple have fun! Lauren and Sean splashed around in the ocean and enjoyed the sun and sand.

The couple wore perfect and fun beach outfits. Lauren chose a white linen dress and Sean went with a button-down and shorts. Since their session was on the beach, they wanted outfits that would allow them to run around and get a little dirty. It’s the beach after all!

Personally, I can’t wait for their wedding this January at Oakland Island! It’s such a fun venue! You get to see wild animals, gorgeous marsh views, and iconic Savannah oak trees. It’s fifteen minutes from Downtown, so it’s the perfect spot for Savannah couples who don’t want a Downtown wedding.

A Balanced Gallery Wall

After a client photoshoot, I always put together a gallery wall for them, so they can get an idea of what their photos would look like in their actual home. I can even upload walls into my system, so we can get the right sizes. How cool is that?

When it comes to galleries, the most important thing is balance and combining things properly. For instance, I love mixing framed prints with canvases as well as black and white and color. As long as you keep it balanced, this blend can look great. You can have framed prints on each side of a canvas or black and white photos on each side of a big color. This is exactly what I did for Lauren and Sean’s Tybee Island engagement session, and I think it came out beautifully in their space.
