As a wedding photographer, there is no greater compliment than when a wedding party member of a client books us! Rebecca was a bridesmaid in Jenna and David’s wedding in 2017. As soon as she got engaged, she reached out and asked if I could photograph their upcoming wedding next spring in Buford. And I, of course, said yes!
Rebecca and Lee met in August 2020 on one of the first outings since the lockdown. They all met at Tucker Brewing Company with friends, and it was an instant connection. Fast forward a few years, and Lee proposed! He told Rebecca they were going to dinner with friends, but when they arrived, they passed an amphitheater with candles and decorations. Lee walked her onto the stage and proposed! And when they turned around, their parents were there to congratulate them. Their friends were waiting to celebrate when they walked across the street for dinner. Rebecca was so surprised!
When picking a location for their engagement session, they wanted it to be a meaningful place. So they chose Kennesaw Mountain, one of their first date spots. The two love hiking and being outdoors with their dog, so it was the perfect place. Located just outside Downtown Atlanta, this park has some of the city’s best views. There are plenty of trails to climb and an incredible lookout spot where you can watch the sunset over Atlanta.
We started their engagement session at the base in the forest, where the couple got to cuddle up and enjoy the gorgeous weather. As the sun began to set, we headed up the trails to get sunset portraits at the peak. These two are so in love and can’t wait to share life together and support each other’s dreams. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year!
One of my favorite ways to get to know my couples are with engagement sessions. It lets you get comfortable in front of the camera, and you will easily see how we direct you into natural, fun-filled poses that bring out your personality. As you start to plan your wedding, reach out! As photographers, we typically book out 12+ months in advance, so it’s never too early to secure your date.
