Baby’s First Year Collection Session

Stefanie is one of my dearest friends, and we’ve worked together so much over the years. While she was running her fashion and lifestyle blog, I would often take photos for her. When her son, Dash, was born, she booked my Baby’s First Year Collection. This Collection includes three sessions over the course of the baby’s first year, and it’s such a great way to capture that precious time. We did his first session at home while he was a newborn, and we recently did his second! This outdoor family session was so much fun and such a great example of how you can use your Baby’s First Year Collection.

Outdoor Family Session

Before we scheduled this session, we waited until Dash could sit up on his own. This way we could get the best photos of him by himself! When it comes to the second session, I always suggest waiting until your baby is sitting up on their own since it makes it a lot easier to photograph them solo.

Then, for this session, we took photos outside of their home, overlooking the marsh. It’s a beautiful location with tons of palm trees and unique water views. It was so much fun to see how Dash had grown up and how he interacted with his parents now. Babies really start to develop their personality around this time, and it’s always a joy to see the changes.

The best part of the Baby’s First Year Collection is that you can really see how they grow and change over the course of the first year. As a mama myself, trust me when I say, it goes by so quickly. This is why it’s crucial to photograph those essential moments, especially in their early life. Because we do it throughout the year, you can really capture their biggest milestones like sitting up and their first birthday.

At the end of the year, we create a gorgeous heirloom album of all three sessions so you can enjoy it all together! You’ll always be able to look back on that first year and have those gorgeous photos of your little one and your family.
