Carly & Colin – Wormsloe and Hunter Army Airfield Engagement Session

Carly & Colin had an incredible engagement session, at both Wormsloe and Hunter Army Airfield. Not only did I get to photograph in two awesome locations, but got to capture so much love between these two! I also love that they chose a spot that is very personal and meaningful to the two – the apache hanger at the Hunter Army Airfield Base. He is a pilot, so it was important to showcase this! In fact, Colin has wanted to be a pilot since he was a kid. Carly and Colin met me through Morgan & Kevin, who had an amazing boho chic wedding last year. This was one of my favorite weddings to shoot, so I was so excited to hear from Carly and Colin!

Wormsloe Engagement Session

We started off at Wormsloe, one of the most romantic spots in Savannah. For the first spot, they wanted a more formal look, which I loved! Colin wore a blue suit, and Carly rocked a stunning velvet gown. Yes, velvet! It was the perfect dress for her shoot. She also wore a fur shawl for part of the shoot, which was stunning. I love this touch of fur, especially since it tied into their fall wedding, which is coming up this September.

Hunter Army Airfield Engagement Session

The second location was the Hunter Army Airfield Base. I loved getting to photograph a new spot and these to me felt so sexy and cool, so Top Gun! Especially as the sunset behind them – we were able to get some incredible sexy shots. I love when Colin carried her, her laugh is contagious! And of course, we made sure to get some in the apache helicopter. Since Colin was in uniform, Carly wore super cute jeans, a flowy blouse, and boots. It was the perfect mix of casual and a little sexy. Plus, she brought out the fur again!

And just listen to what Carly had to say about Colin! “He is super genuine, caring, and protective. He always makes me feel safe and makes me feel so loved! He would do literally anything for me without my request. He acts very silly with me, and we constantly have fun together despite the situation. He is also extremely hardworking and dedicated to me, his family, and his career. He is selfless and strong in the way that he devotes himself to protect our country, but he stays gentle and compassionate with his loved ones.”

Colin and Carly are getting married this September at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and Soho South, with planning by Ivory and Beau. I am so excited to photograph their wedding this fall! And judging by their engagement session, it is going to be amazing!
