Jaclyn and her family were visiting Jekyll Island for the first time for a friend’s wedding. They hadn’t had a chance to have family photos done yet with their baby Levi. Jaclyn reached out to me, and I told her, as a momma myself, she had to do them! She would always treasure them, and she agreed. This trip to Jekyll Island was the perfect opportunity. The result was a gorgeous Driftwood Beach family session.
Driftwood Beach is one of my favorite spots on the Georgia coast. The trees are like sculptures, and they always work as an amazing backdrop. Not to mention, of course, you have the beautiful water view. Located on the North End of Jekyll Island, it’s a short walk from the pier. (Pro tip: walk about a mile to get the best views!)
I was actually photographing an engagement session this very day on Jekyll, so my Associate Photographer, Hannah, tagged along with me and took care of the Kirk family. The beachy scene didn’t disappoint, and she was able to get some perfect shots of the family. They all got some smiles out of baby Levi, and the family just look so peaceful together. The love just radiates from their photos. Bonus points, they had their pup with them, so I know these photos are just extra special.
The visual and tactile experience of looking through family photos triggers powerful, emotional responses of love and inspires a family bond. It lowers anxiety and keeps you grounded. In today’s digital and impersonal world, family portraits have never been so important. I know that Jaclyn and her family are going to cherish this Driftwood Beach family session for generations to come. If you’re in need of your own family photos, let me know! I would love to work together.
