Elizabeth is a Georgia girl from outside of Atlanta, while Rich is from Queens. They met four years ago while Elizabeth was visiting Manhattan. They now live together in Manhattan, but they came back for their Sea Island wedding. I’m so glad they did because it was a beautiful and elegant affair full of heartfelt moments and family!
Elizabeth and Rich really pulled out all the stops for their wedding day look! The theme being a black tie, their choice of attire had such a “wow factor” to it. In her gown, Gigi by Tom Sebastien, Elizabeth was a dream to behold. With hand-embroidered sequin details, floral cap sleeves, and an open leg, she was elegance and grace personified. She accented her dress with pearl jewelry, which added that elegant touch, and who can ever look away from a pair of Jimmy Choo heels? Not to be outdone, Rich donned a white jacket with black pants and a black bowtie. A simple, elegant look captured his personality masterfully. Together, they looked perfect!
Elizabeth and Rich got married at Sea Island Resort, one of my favorite places to photograph weddings! Specifically, they were married at the three-story estate, “The Cloister, ” a venue that effortlessly casts an aura of luxury in the air around it. From the terracotta roof to the sandstone walls that give it its Coastal Italian mansion vibe, The Cloister is a landmark of all of the Golden Isles. Elizabeth and Rich couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful spot.
Their ceremony was outside, and they said their vows were surrounded by white flowers and with tall, gorgeous windows behind them. You truly can’t get better than the natural scenery at Sea Island Resort, with its lush greens and palms that line the grounds in the courtyard, and the calming sound of the Atlantic softly brushing against the shore touches the ear. The ceremony was beautiful oceanic bliss enveloped in calm serenity for this Sea Island wedding. This gave the immense love in the air a matching tapestry to show itself.
After their ceremony, everyone moved into the Clubroom, perfect for Elizabeth and Rich with its neural color palette, unique lighting, and elegant windows as a backdrop. Meticulously carved ceilings and walls lend way to an unbelievable crystal-laden chandelier that hangs overhead in the Clubroom. This is where Elizabeth and Rich shared their first dance with all their loved ones.
Also, let me say now if a planner offers a champagne tower, say “Yes”! There is an air of icons when it comes to champagne towers, and we adore them here.
For their wedding, Elizabeth and Rich chose to stay with white as their color, occasionally accented with baby blue details and greenery within the florals. For their centerpieces, Elizabeth and Rich wanted something classy with a unique touch. They chose white roses and greenery paired with contrasting crystal candleholders, which made for effortless imagery.
Every shot is a painting.
I often enjoy more popping colors, but when it came to Elizabeth and Rich’s wedding, their choices of pallet were to die for and any wedding photographer’s dream.
But the décor was nothing compared to the love in the room. Rich has two sons who Elizabeth adores, and they gave the most heartfelt, funniest speeches at the reception. They had everyone in tears! Everyone was smiling and dancing all night long, and it had a perfect ending with an explosive exit!
I loved working with Elizabeth and Rich on their Sea Island wedding. They were such a cheerful and lovely couple, and their family and friends made the night something to remember forever. Going back to Sea Island Resort was a joy, as always. I can’t say enough how wonderful it is there. I believe I’ve actually said plenty, but there is still so much more to gush over! If you’re planning your own Georgia or Sea Island Resort wedding, say hello! I’d love to hear all about your plans!
With love,
Izzy
