Formal Engagement Session at Perry Lane Hotel

Deana and David’s wedding had to be rescheduled due to Covid, but that gave us time to do an engagement session! While Savannah is a southern town and known for its laid-back atmosphere, it still makes for a great spot for formal affairs! The historic buildings and European-inspired architecture create a unique backdrop for portraits. So of course, when Deana and David said they wanted a black-tie formal engagement session, I got so excited!

Formal Engagement Session in Savannah

David and Deana dressed up to the nines, and I’m so glad they did! These two are so stylish, so it was the perfect theme. David wore a classic black tuxedo, while Deana wore a satin black jumpsuit. They looked amazing.

We started their session at SCAD’s Rustin Hall, which used to be an old Hospital that SCAD renovated and turned into classrooms. Built in 1819, it has been completely updated. I love it because it has a rustic European charm and a grand staircase.

Next, we went to Lafayette Square, which had the most beautiful sunset glow. It is so magical to shoot in Savannah in the evening! The soft golden light filters through the Spanish moss and creates a magical backdrop.

To end the evening, we headed to The Wayward, a bar at Perry Lane Hotel. Perry Lane Hotel is one of my favorite places in Savannah. It is effortlessly cool and modern, and it always makes the perfect spot for engagement sessions and intimate weddings. This bar has a cozy atmosphere, with modern decor, and a hint of mid-century modern furniture. It is one of the coolest spots for a drink downtown!
