In-Home Lifestyle Family Session on Sea Island

The Moore Family lives in Tennessee, but they have a second home on Sea Island. Another client of mine, whose family I photograph twice a year, recommended Katie reach out to me. Katie loved the kind of playful, candid lifestyle sessions I’ve done for my client, and she wanted to do the same. It was so important to her to showcase the relationships of her family and the children. Their family session on Sea Island was perfect, and I love how everything came out!

The Play Collection

This was the perfect family session because it combined two of my favorite things: The Play Collection and an in-home lifestyle session! Essentially, a Play Collection session is one that is way more candid and playful. It’s all about allowing kids to just be themselves and get silly. We don’t want anything too posed. Usually, these sessions are at home or a favorite location to hang out (like the beach or park). The collection includes a fine art album to beautifully display the story of your family, and many families choose to do a session like this yearly or bi-yearly. This way they have a set of family albums that preserves their family year after year.

Family Session on Sea Island

I absolutely loved this session! We started out at their stunning marsh front house. I first got some shots of the kids just lounging around their home, and then we went outside for some fun! The kids played around and chased each other while I captured it. This family clearly has so much fun together! We also got some shots at the beach, and the beautiful background was perfect for photographing this gorgeous family!

One of my favorite spots to photograph families is right in their own homes. You can really capture so many more candid moments! Everyone is more conformable at home, and the family can really interact together. This is especially great for kids, who sometimes feel silly in front of the camera. When you start the session in your own home, the kids get more relaxed! When I photograph families, I want to capture the kids in their natural element – their goofy laughs, big smiles, and all!
