Lauren and Tayler are both Savannah natives, so they knew exactly where they wanted their engagement shoot! They decided to have their engagement session on Bluff Drive, one of the most scenic roads in Savannah.
Located on the Isle of Hope, Bluff Drive is full of gorgeous homes that were built in the 19th and 20th century, and many of them have views of the marsh. It’s quintessential Savannah with the perfect Southern feel.
We walked around the quaint streets and took portraits among the oak trees. The sunset added the perfect glow. We also spent some time at the marina for some sunset coastal photos. Lauren and Tayler just look so happy in these photos, and the different backdrops were beautiful.
My favorite part of this Bluff Drive session was the couple’s two German shorthair pointers named Aspen and Mallard! They were so happy, and my favorite shot is when Lauren and Tayler picked them up. Whenever clients ask to bring their dogs to sessions or weddings, I always say yes! But I do recommend that they have someone who can watch them or take them home after. We will normally do the pictures with the pets first, so they don’t get too antsy waiting for the shoot to be over. Since engagement sessions are around thirty minutes to an hour, we will spend the first ten to fifteen minutes with pets, and the rest will be focused on you!
Lauren and Tayler are getting married this May at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist with a reception at The Savannah Golf Club. I’m sure their wedding will be an absolute joy.
Bluff Drive is just one of the many unique places I love to shoot engagement sessions, and working with engaged couples is so much fun. If you’re looking for your own engagement session, just say hello!
