Meg and Cedric recently moved to Ashville from Savannah. They miss Savannah so much, and they’ve been unable to properly explore Ashville since Covid began. That’s partly why it was so great to take their engagement photos at Black Balsam Knob in Asheville. They’re eloping back to their beloved Savannah this April, but it was lovely to spend some time in their new town too.
The hike up to the summit of the Black Balsam Knob is so gorgeous. There are dense groves of balsam fir trees, and the sunlight illuminates the trail as you go. The breeze at the summit also made for some gorgeous shots! Not to mention, there are tons of amazing backdrops, so we had our pick of places to shoot. The rocks, the trees, and the water all added up to one amazing engagement session.
Meg and Cedric were such a joy to shoot too! They just enjoyed being with each other, and they clearly had so much fun. Some of my favorite shots are of Meg on Cedric’s back!
I’m so glad they picked the unique Black Balsam Knob for their engagement session. I love to shoot everywhere and anywhere. I’m always up for an adventure! I also love that we chose a place that could show off Meg and Cedric’s adventurous personalities and love of traveling together!
Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourselves to extra photos and all the other perks that come with getting married. In fact, I think you get to splurge MORE! My elopement couples often ask if they should get engagement photos, and the answer is a resounding yes! This is such an important time to document, no matter how you are celebrating, big wedding or small. I encourage all of my couples to do an engagement session, and I would encourage you to do one! Shoot me a message, so we can start planning!
