Samantha and Alex are originally from Australia, but they’ve been living in New York City. Originally, they had a big wedding planned back in Australia, but they had to come up with a new plan because of Covid. So, instead, they planned an elopement in Orleans Square with a few of their closest friends, and they’re waiting to have their big wedding. It was such an amazing day, and I’m so glad I get to share it!
Samantha and Alex stayed and got ready at Perry Lane, but I met them for their First Look at the library. They included their adorable pup, Beyonce! We walked around Downtown Savannah for their portraits, and the different backdrops made for some amazing photos. After this, we met their friends in Orleans Square for the ceremony and a champagne “cocktail hour.”
For the dinner reception, the couple chose the award-winning restaurant The Grey in Historic Savannah. This restaurant is a must-go for visitors! It has an art deco design and occupies an old Greyhound Bus Terminal from 1938. Samantha and Alex chose the Shower Room, which is a gorgeous private room that lets guests overlook the main dining room. They chose to add lots of candles to give everything a romantic feel. The flowers for this elopement were beautiful too. The table had a eucalyptus and rose garland, and Samantha had one of the most unique bridal bouquets I have ever seen! It featured cascading orchids and soft cream roses.
I loved working with Samantha and Alex on their elopement in Orleans Square. They had this great “too cool for school” vibe, and all of their friends had amazing style! Samantha even wanted a photo of her flipping off the camera. Working with fun couples is one of the best parts of my job. I’d love to work with you too! I hope you reach out to me, so we can start thinking about your big day!
