You might recognize this sweet couple from their engagement session in Atlanta and their backyard elopement! Janet and William originally planned a big fall wedding, but due to the pandemic had to postpone it to March 2021. They wanted to keep their original wedding date, so they eloped in September in William’s dad’s backyard. But, they still wanted their bigger wedding, so they continued planning for their Springtime wedding.
The couple wanted a garden feel, so they chose Cater Woolford Gardens in Atlanta. This is one of Atlanta’s hidden gems! It has an Italian garden feel and makes you forget you are downtown. They also have a gorgeous indoor space, that is perfect for a rain backup. Fortunately, the weather was sunny, so they had it both the ceremony and reception outdoors on the lawn.
While it was sunny, it was unseasonably cold, so Janet wore a beautiful fur shawl over her ballgown to keep her warm. She chose a tulle and lace appliqué gown from BHLDN, that had a cream lining, which really made the lace pop. She had her hair in a soft updo, and wore the most beautiful gold comb! We did their first look in the garden, and it was such a special moment. Similar to their elopement, this was one of my favorite moments of the whole day!
Cator Woolford Gardens has so many beautiful spots for portraits that it’s so hard to just pick a few to share! From the flowering trees to the endless pathways, there are so many places to shoot. The couple chose a palette of navy and blush, but let their bridal party wear whatever they wanted. Janet’s bridal party attire included a patterned dress, a pantsuit, and a navy suit with floral shirt! I love when couples let the bridal party wear whatever they are comfortable in.
After portraits, we headed to their ceremony, which took place on the lawn. Guests were socially distanced, and the area was large enough for everyone to sit. They wrote vows to one another and were all smiles and giggles. After they said I Do, guests blew bubbles to celebrate. Their reception was so much fun, even though it was a little chilly. Of course, they had Yom Ice Cream for dessert, which is William’s company. This wedding was filled with so many sweet touches, and it was such a dream to shoot this fun couple! Congratulations Janet and William!
