After Austria, we took a train to Italy, stopping in Bologna, Venice and Florence. Venice was by far my favorite. It really is amazing how this whole city is built on the water. And its like a maze, so exploring is tons of fun. Everywhere you turn you see new beautiful canals, buildings, plazas and lovely little details. I mean look at these views. Its unreal.
I especially loved all the doors – the peeling paint, the knockers, the handles, the designs, everything about them I love!
Unfortunately we did not take a gondola ride. It was chilly, they are expensive, and some of the guys can be a bit aggressive in trying to get you to take a ride which turns me off. But they definitely make for some timeless romantic images!
Ive been known to carry 4 cameras at a time – my professional Canon 5D, my Canon powershot, my Holga and my Diana. So when I pass one off to Martin, he likes to catch me in action.
This is the Basilica di San Marco… and its just amazing. The outside is just so whimsical to me, I love it!
Venice is full of color. But it looks sexy in black and white.
This is the Rialto, a super famous bridge.
