Weddings like this one really make me take a step back and say, “Whoah. I’m one lucky gal.” I’m super blessed to be able to work with amazing couples, get to know them and their families and take beautiful photos of them. And every now and again, they take you somewhere like, oh…..PUERTO RICO!!!!
In the midst of a busy Spring wedding season, Martin and I were able to take a working vacation and spend a few relaxing days riding around the island, hiking in a rainforest, soaking up rays and sipping on Puerto Rican rum. Yum!
We also got to hang out with Jen and Marcus and their fantastic families as they married each other intimately, sweetly on the sandy beach of Fajardo.
The island provided an exotic backdrop for Jen’s details. What more does a girl need the morning of her wedding than a bottle of Bailey’s and her best friend? The resort actually rests on a cliff, so to get to the beach, you have to take the ferry to their private island. The sand is soft, the air thick with heat and the waters glisten the clearest blue.Does it get any better than this? The answer is nope.Especially when you’re surrounded by the people who love you most.I just loved these trees that spotted the island…But couldn’t resist getting a few in front of the water. Marcus is a regular Fabio, don’t you agree? Also these two are silly gooses, which are my favorite kind.Marcus is a Star Wars fanatic so Jen allowed a few references to pop up throughout the wedding. They got married on May 4th, a pin was added to his hat and Yoda was present for photo -ops (see below!)We all enjoyed an amazing meal and each other’s company in front of a stunning sunset.I love the sweet in between moments.Marcus and Jen, I feel like I can’t say it enough – THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for including me and Martin in all of your festivities. I hope to share many more with you and your families. Next time we’re in Durham, we’re totally going out!
