This colorful winter Agnes Scott College wedding just warms my heart! But before jumping into more info on the wedding, I have to talk about our beautiful couple, Taylor and Travis, and how they met at a concert in Tennessee.
Taylor says the air conditioning was out in the venue, and it was so hot, but they went to the top of the venue anyway. That was where she met Travis and his friends, and they realized they were both from Atlanta. Then, they separated and didn’t see each other again for two months until they ended up meeting at another music festival! The stars really aligned for the two, since they met at two separate concerts! I had the honor of shooting their incredibly fun Agnes Scott College wedding, which was a mix of old Hollywood and colorful details.
Travis is a huge Star Wars fan, and he made sure to tie in some fun subtle elements. First, he chose Millennium Falcon cuff links. Then, his bow tie was full of stars, and his socks had Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker on them. Plus, the groom’s cake was Darth Vader’s head, which is such a fun way to include his love of Star Wars.
As you may be able to tell from how they met, Taylor and Travis also love music. They incorporated musical elements into their wedding, like using cassettes for the seating chart and table décor!
For the venue, Taylor and Travis chose Wahoo Grill in Decatur. Just a few minutes from downtown Atlanta, it’s the perfect venue for those looking for a relaxed garden feel. After their first look and portraits at Agnes Scott College, we headed to the ceremony. For the ceremony arch, they chose gold vases with large branches to tie in that garden feel. The flowers perfectly matched Taylor’s bouquet with mums, feathers, and lots of colors. Her bouquet was so colorful with hot pink, yellow, and feathers! She looked amazing in her gorgeous crepe gown by Chosen. It had an extra-long train, and cuff off the shoulder neckline that was perfect. It really brought in the classic vibe they were going for, while letting her bouquet really be a design centerpiece.
I loved working with Taylor and Travis and having the opportunity to shoot their wedding in Decatur. Their wedding was so colorful and fun, but their personal style is still so simple and classic. It was very old-school Hollywood, which I adore.
There’s nothing I love more than being able to shoot a unique and personalized wedding! If you’re planning your own Georgia wedding or Agnes Scott College Wedding, I would love to hear from you! Just let me know how I can help!
