I am just in LOVE with this Palmetto Bluff family photography session at The Montage Palmetto Bluff. Photo sessions like this don’t come around every day. The Zesch Family, whom I’ve known for a long time and have been so close with, asked me to capture family photos. Of course, I said yes! Who wouldn’t want to capture this beautiful couple and their little bundle of joy?

So, we went to a place that could match their lovely energy and grace: The Montage at Palmetto Bluff.

Where Is The Montage Palmetto Bluff?

Located in Bluffton, South Carolina, the historic hotel has hosted many world-class events. Ever so recently, Justin Bieber’s wedding. But that doesn’t mean that only the elite make use of this lovely space. I’ll tell you right now: I’m as down to earth as they come. So, trust me when I say this is a family-friendly venue for all people.

Much like the adorable Zesch family!

An Ideal Setting for Treasured Memories

We held their family session at eleven AM. As a Palmetto Bluff family photographer, you must get the right time of day to shoot. I always choose morning or closer to lunchtime. This is especially helpful when dealing with the little ones, as typically they aren’t tired and fussy. Most importantly, you just want all the family members to feel comfortable. So, Eleven was a perfect choice for the Zesch family.

Photography sessions should be fun and carefree, candid with care and a photographer’s touch. This allows everybody to be themselves, as family portraits should be representative of just that—your family—not what social media tells you your family should be like.

So, to help the Zesch family feel at ease, I had them walk through Palmetto Bluff and take in its beauty. Sometimes, I stopped along the road when I’d see a spot I just had to capture. I tried to make the photo shoot as relaxed as possible. A trick you have to learn in Newborn Photography.

Oh, and bringing snacks is another trick I’ve got up my sleeve. Sometimes, I’ll even share. ;)

When editing family pictures, I try to keep cool black-and-white images for my editorial couples. Family photos should be lovely, bright, and colorful. What better way to see your beautiful family full of joy and life than in color?
