Michelle & David – Sweet Elopement at The Landings

Michelle and David chose to have an intimate elopement at The Landings, with their two best friends officiating. No matter what size of a wedding you chose, having a photographer there to capture it is so important! I love shooting elopements, and intimate weddings. It allows me more time with the couple alone, and lets us get some gorgeous shots.

Before their ceremony, we walked around The Landings for bride and groom portraits. The Landings is such a beautiful spot, not far from Downtown Savannah. There are thousands of acres to chose from, but we picked a spot right by the water.

The couple kept their attire classic and fun! Michelle wore a beautiful little white dress, with some beading, and matching gold jewelry. David wore a linen suit, without the suit jacket. I love it when my couples have fun with their outfits, and dress up, even for elopements. It’s important to feel good on your wedding day. The ceremony overlooked the river, with the sunset in the distance. It was so breathtaking! Their best friends officiated and even watched them take their first dance as a couple.

Beautiful Surroundings

Savannah has so many gorgeous areas to get married, from the beach to the river, to the squares in Historic Savannah. Not only are there beautiful spaces outside, but Savannah also offers historic churches and modern venues. No matter the feel of your elopement, you will find the perfect spot in Savannah. Some of my favorite spots include the courtyard at The Brice, the rooftop at Perry Lane Hotel, and Forsyth Park.

Amazing Weather

While Savannah does get hot and humid in the summer, the rest of the year is gorgeous! I recommend February, March and April if you are looking for the flowers to be in bloom, and October and November for cooler weather. But, even if you chose the winter, Savannah is gorgeous and not usually extremely cold! The city decorates for the holiday season, which can make for beautiful photos.

Easy To Get To & So Much to Do

Not only is Savannah incredibly walkable (no need for a car here!) it has an airport. You can fly into the Savannah-Hilton Head Airport, and take a short Uber or Taxi to downtown Savannah. Historic Savannah is easy to walk around, with everything close by. If you do want to get outside of Downtown, Uber and Cabs are readily available. Which not only makes it easy for you, but for any guests that join your elopement!

Savannah also has a vast selection of beautiful restaurants, bars, museums and shopping that its the perfect city for an extended stay to include a mini honeymoon!
