Are you ready for a colorful elopement at Bonaventure?! This might be a cemetery.. but it is actually a great spot for an elopement. You get the southern charm with lots of oak trees and Spanish moss, plus some beautiful coastal views. Michelle and Steve wanted an elopement that focused on their family – and their love of color! Every part of this elopement was about having fun and enjoying the day.
Bonaventure might be a cemetery, but you shouldn’t let that deter you! It’s actually a beautiful spot that few people know about. It’s a public space with several great areas for photos, including a beautiful garden. Not to mention, it’s got a long history, which makes it a fascinating place for an elopement. You can read more about it (and see some of Michelle and Steve’s pictures!) in our recent post on the top five elopement venues in Savannah!
Steve wore a fun pink gingham shirt with black suspenders and a bowtie. Michelle wanted lots of color, so she had a super fun flower crown and a colorful bouquet filled with roses, ranunculus, and lavender. The couple wore matching converse with Steve’s being black and Michelle’s being pink.
Their family was a huge part of their Bonaventure elopement, especially their ceremony. So, we got some special shots of everyone all together. You can see how happy everyone is, which is what really makes for a great wedding! It’s all about those who celebrate the day with you. When I photograph elopements, I make sure to also get some shots of the guests. I love seeing their faces during the ceremony, and get shots of them! No matter if you have 2 guests, no guests, or 100, I want to make sure you can remember it all!
Their dinner took place at The Olde Pink House, which is a very popular spot in Downtown Savannah. Built in 1771, it offers some of the best food in Savannah too! The classic pink walls made for the perfect backdrop for some fun portraits of the couple.
Our associate photographer, Hannah, handled their special day, and she did an amazing job. Now, this couple has photos they can treasure for years to come. We’ve handled tons of unique weddings and elopements, just like this Bonaventure elopement. We love to help our clients pick the perfect spot for their ceremony and reception! If you’re looking for someone to photograph your special day, we would love to help out!
