Introducing The Minimal Series

I am so excited to announce  I am launching an exciting new children’s portrait session, The Minimal Series! The Minimal Series captures the fleeting magic of childhood in the purest and wonderful way. Free of props and distractions, these stunning studio portraits focus on the unique personality of your child, creating personal works of art with a minimal aesthetic. These prop-free sessions really let the focus be on each child’s unique features and personalities.

I recently did a mini session for Henry, for his 6-month milestone. Henry and his sister, Stella, have always been so fun to capture. Their mom is Crystal, and I had the honor of also shooting her maternity session a few months ago! Crystal used to be a lead designer at Tara Skinner Events, so we’ve worked together for several years. We’ve both been a part of the wedding industry for so long, and we’ve become wonderful friends throughout that time!

The Inspiration Behind The Minimal Series

Over the past year, I have become more and more drawn to a minimalist approach, especially when it comes to the backgrounds of my portraits. I am spoiled by living in such a gorgeous location. But I have been drawn to the clean and minimal walls and backgrounds around downtown and in venues.

Stripping the backgrounds away challenges me to not rely on Savannah’s beauty to create compelling images.  I have also noticed that when I am designing wall galleries for my clients, it’s these photos with simplified or minimal backgrounds, that create the most cohesive and aesthetically pleasing displays.

Doing black and white studio portraits of children has always been in the back of my mind. So I bought a seamless white background and got to playing with my own children and a few of my friends and what I discovered was absolute magic!  These images feel so pure and sweet and fleeting, yet timeless at the same time.  I love that they are completely free of props and other distractions that have become popular in children’s portraiture, focusing instead on each child’s unique features and personalities. Plus, the framed canvases or framed fine art prints are absolutely stunning!

Our mobile studio comes to you for the utmost convenience and allows for a much more relaxing portrait experience. These sessions take place in Savannah and Athens, Georgia. Outside of this area? Collaboration with ReBlossom in Athens

I am so excited to launch this new series with a collaboration with ReBlossom in Athens.  Not only is ReBlossom the most adorable children’s boutique, but it is an incredible resource for local mothers.  Monira, the owner, offers classes, support groups, and lots of incredible free resources for mothers, children, and their other caretakers.  ReBlossom has been invaluable to me as a new mom in a town with few mother friends – I have taken advantage of toddler storytime, free acupuncture, lactation consulting, to name a few, and I am just so excited to give back!

An $85 “session fee” will 100% be donated to Maternal Mental Health, ensuring one mother in need receives a free therapy session!  Then, a curated line of framed canvases and framed fine art prints are available to purchase for yourself in time for Mother’s Day.
